I haven’t made a De’Aaron Fox highlight video for over a month. I was sort of aware that I hadn’t made a video for him in a while, but that was fine by me because highlight videos for him are always high-effort affairs. With him, you get lots of points, lots of free-throws, lots of assists. I was fine if he wasn’t having highlight-worthy games because it meant more time for me to make videos of real scrubs, not budding All-Stars.
This is a perfect time for me to issue an OFFICIAL DTB EXPLANATION: Even though Fox had a 23/5 line about two weeks ago, I didn’t make a highlight video for that performance because it took Fox 24 shot attempts to score 23 points. I do not reward inefficiency like that unless it’s a true scrub going off at the end of the season. Or if it’s Jordan Crawford. (By the way, it’s March now, so it’s about time for Crawford to make his yearly reappearance in the NBA. Can some team sign him now please?)
Now Fox has finally had another good game (that didn’t require too many shot attempts – only seventeen!) and I’m remembering how much fun it is to watch him play. His pull-up midrange jimbo has been inconsistent his entire career, but it’s satisfying to watch it go in here. His attacking mindset in transition, in combination with his lightning-quick speed, also makes for an enjoyable highlight video.
