I have previously implied (or just straight-up stated) that the only reason Jeff Teague gets tons of assists this year is because he gets to play with the assist sponge known as Karl-Anthony Towns. It was a fair statement to make, because every time Teague was getting big assist games, Towns was right there, making tons of shots. He was also there when Teague was getting small assist games. Or when Teague was not even playing. Because Towns, up until just recently, literally always was there if there was a game to be played.
But I must apologize to Teague (BARF). Towns is injured now, and he still got 10 assists this game. He didn’t even get any free assists just by virtue of passing it to Towns who will always shoot any kind of shot if he feels like it. So I’m sorry I said that Teague’s passing ability was based around the talents of another, seperate and distinct, player.
Turns out all he needs to get tons of assists is getting to play with the assist sponge known as Karl-Anthony Towns OR getting to play with the assist sponge known as Taj Gibson. My mistake. My bad.
