Marvin Bagley 22 Points/4 Blocks/3 Threes Full Highlights (3/21/2019)

What I really want to do right now is find comments from Kings fans after some disappointing preseason game for Marvin Bagley and post the comments so that others can ridicule their lack of faith. In fairness to them, the Kings have given their fans very little reason to not assume the absolute worst in any scenario that can happen, and that includes the play of their high draft picks. But I’m feeling charitable tonight. I won’t mock Kings fans for too quickly expressing dissatisfaction with the state of offensive game. Goodness knows that if I, like some sort of simpleton, posted all of my half-baked thoughts onto the Internet for everyone to see, there would be a lot of very wrong stuff there. You guys are lucky, though, since you only get my fully-baked thoughts. And they’re only about 50 percent wrong.

Bagley has come a long way. There were valid criticisms of his early play, with many questioning how he was going to get things done against legit NBA defenders. Those criticisms might be still there, in a limited sense, but he has shown that if you give him the ball enough times, he will give you enough points to make it worth your while.

He can shoot threes now, too. If you were hoping that he was going to be one of those modern bigs who somehow DIDN’T have a three-ball, that was rather optimistic of you. He had two of them last game, three of them this game, that’s a total of 5 in two games. I can find tons of 2-game stretches where Stephen Curry made fewer threes than that, and no one would ever accuse him of not having a three-ball.
