Dennis Schröder 26 Points/7 Assists Full Highlights (3/22/2019)

Being the backup PG to Russell Westbrook has to be one of the worst gigs in the NBA, second only to being a starter on a Thibodeau-coached team. Even worse if you are the backup PG to Russell Westbrook even though you averaged 20 points per game as a starter the year before. Is it too late for Dënniß ßchrööder to demand a trade?

It’s not as bad as it could be, I guess. He’s still getting minutes because he can sometimes pretend to be a shooting guard, or he can play point and Westbrook can pretend to be a center. He’s still getting touches because Westbrook and Paul George can’t shoot the ball literally all the time, even if Westbrook secretly (or maybe openly) wishes that every possession would end in a potential bucket or assist for him. And he gets to play on a good team that will probably make the playoffs. So it’s not all bad. Even if ßchrööder strikes me as the kind of player who wants to chuck on a bad team rather than not chuck on a good team.

In other news, it looks like the moldy/fungal patch on his hair has come back. It looked like it got better for a bit earlier in the season, but now it looks worse than ever. I’m sure if the camera people zoomed way up into it you could really see how disgusting it is, from far away it almost looks like he just bleached the hair or something.
