Okay, so after Christian Wood scored a career-high 23 points last game, I was a little bit peeved with the Bucks’ front office, but I wasn’t, like, steaming mad or anything. It could have been a fluke. It was just one game, after all. A lot of scrubs manage to have one good game even if their entire careers pass us by in a sea of scrubbiness.
But with Wood’s most recent performance, which saw him score exactly one quarter of Wilt’s NBA scoring record, we can be certain that this isn’t a fluke. This is legitimately happening right now and will continue to happen as long as Alvin Gentry keeps marginalizing AD and Jahlil Okafor. And that fact makes me mad.
I’m not proud to admit it, but I just got done having a kind of mini-tantrum. Except there isn’t anything “mini” about me taking Japurri’s kitty condo and bashing it to pieces against the wall while bellowing swear words at the top of my voice. Japurri just sat there and looked concerned while I destroyed his perch, but it’s not like he ever sits in it. He’d rather get hair all over my furniture. Anyway, when I was done putting a hole in my wall, I was still overcome by rage, so I climbed to the top of my two-story apartment complex, took off my shirt, and took myself hostage while yelling about Christian Wood.
The police were called eventually, and I only escaped arrest by leaping to a nearby tree and executing a series of deft monkey-swings (something that I never would have been able to do had my unholy rage not been providing my body with an excess amount of adrenaline) to escape from the immediate vicinity. Now I guess I’m “on the run”, but since I didn’t really commit that many crimes (other than maybe public disturbance), I don’t think the police are even really looking for me right now. I’m chilling out behind a 7-11 trying to decide if the cashier would call the police for me not having a shirt (I left it on the roof).
Do you know how hard it is to make highlights on a four-year old phone whose battery lasts four hours on a good day? Hard as heck. And reliving Wood’s career-high is making me mad again. Pray that I don’t do something stupid again. I just want to go home and make highlights on my computer. I’m sorry Japurri.
