DeMarcus Cousins (who is supposed to be a good player) in this game: 9 points, 4 of 12 shooting, 6 turnovers, 6 fouls.
Montrezl Harrell (who actually is a good player) in this game: 26 points, 11 of 15 shooting, 5 rebounds, 2 of everything else.
There were a lot of people who were very upset when Cousins signed with the Warriors, claiming that the season might as well not be played at all and the NBA should just award them the championship. Meanwhile, I (and many others) are wondering why we should be concerned about a career-loser ballhog whiny bitchbaby coming off an Achilles injury going to a team with more than enough offensive threats. The Warriors did win this game, but Cousins only minorly a part of that. They would’ve won with Kevon Looney and Andrew Bogut manning the center position, and maybe in the process Harrell wouldn’t have dominated them so hard. He probably would’ve, but maybe not.
I’m betting by the end of this series we’re going to see at least a minor skirmish between Harrell and Cousins. Cousins is a floppy sulker, but he also is quick to anger, and he’s not going to like the unrelenting nature of Harrell’s game. And Harrell’s not going to like that he’s the only one besides Lou Williams doing anything on offense for the Clippers, and he’s going to release that frustration by punching Cousins’ headband right off his stupid head.
