Montrezl Harrell 24 Points Full Highlights (4/24/2019)

I can’t get over how much of a beast Montrezl Harrell is. It helps that Warriors have zero players who can contain him, but it’s not like he hasn’t been a beast for the entire god-damn season. He’s been so good that I will have to honestly think about removing him from my channel for next season. But don’t worry! If he does get excised, he’ll be back in a few years at most. He seems like the kind of player who burns really insanely bright for a few years, and then burns out because who can sustain that level of intensity for an entire career?

I didn’t see this coming while he was with the Rockets. At all. There was nothing in his play that made me think “this dude is going to be one of the best sixth-men in the league and he’s going to dunk it literally every time he touches the ball”. He did have those two good games in Houston, but since it wasn’t followed up with any more, I figured it was a fluke. Players have flukey games all the time (Alec Peters please come back I love you), but Harrell’s was no fluke. It was just a taste of things to come. And now we’ve got the whole load. We are tasting the whole load.

This is the 32nd game, including playoffs, where Harrell has had 20 points or more this season. I think he had about 10 of them in his whole career prior to this year, and most of those were last year. His improvement has been remarkable, maybe not enough to win MIP (similarly to Harrell, I have no idea how Pascal Siakam became so good), or enough to win 6MOY (frickin’ Lou Williams just start him god dammit), but enough for me to not ever shut up about it.
