Wow, I totally missed this insane performance by Jonathan Isaac. Sorry for the delay, it’s just that his point total was so low (although pretty decent for him) that I skimmed over it while looking for vids to make. Eventually I noticed the 6 blocks, and then I noticed all the other stuff, and why did no one tell me this dude almost got a five-by-five? Is there some sort of service I can sign up for that will send me texts when players almost get five-by-fives? That’s the kind of performance that’s easy to miss when you’re only looking at points and assists mostly. Who knows how many near five-by-fives I’ve ignored over the years. Dozens? Hundreds?
It goes without saying that there is a lot of defense in this video. Kristupids Porzingpiss and Sucka Donbitch were not prepared for the LENGTH and EXTENDABILITY of Isaac in this game. And once they found out about it, they still couldn’t do anything, because neither of them has the athleticism to maneuver themselves or the ball they are manipulating out of the way of his long reach.
And a lot of the stuff that he did on offense was a result of his defense. Isn’t there some sort of NBA truism about that concept? I think there is, but I’m not sure, because I don’t care about defense. At all. Never have, never will. This video is fun just because of their sheer terror Isaac was bringing with him everywhere he went on the court, but it would be more fun if he scored 32 points with 7 threes and a bunch of dunks.
