The Internet, perhaps the greatest collection of knowledge ever assembled in human history, seems to be lacking somewhat in the “NBA highlights of Jaren Jackson” department. I’m talking about the father of the Jaren Jackson seen here. The Internet is definitely not lacking in highlights of his son, thanks in no small part to my heroic efforts on that front.
I wish I could’ve done my part, but I wasn’t of legal highlight-making age when Jackson Sr. was around, and even if I was, the average person did not have the technology to compile large amounts of highlights back then. All we get is a grainy 10-year old mix that’s only 2 minutes long from “TheKingMisiek” who is basically the GOAT of old-school player mixes. Just looking at his channel, he hasn’t been active for five years but the last the thing he bestowed on us was a frickin’ COLE ALDRICH mix. What a hero.
Meanwhile, I don’t even call my compilations “mixes”. We truly live in a different era.
But back to Jaren Jackson Sr. I can kind of see why there wouldn’t be many vids of him floating around out there; he wasn’t very good at all. His son is already way better than him. He hopped around from team to team for like a decade before settling with the Spurs for a few years, playing under Popovich for some good teams. So he’s got a ring, I guess that makes him better than his son in that department.
