Fans of buzzer-beating game-winners (which you all should be) or just fans of Bogdan Bogdanovic (which you also all should be) will fondly remember Bogdanovic’s deep three to beat the Lakers around one year ago. That was a great shot, one of the best game-winners of that season, and it will always live in our hearts.
Tonight, the Kings had another chance to shock the Lakers at the buzzer. And they had, on the court, a player who had already done such a thing, who had experience with kicking JaBroni Lames in the nuts and walking off with a victory. I was pretty sure Bogdanovic was going to take the last shot, I mean, who else would take it?
The answer, it turns out, is Harrison Barnes, who actually made a nice move to get right in the paint but then was faced with Anthony Davis who blocked his pathetic attempt out of the air, sealing the game for the Lakers. I’m actually not too mad about it. I could pretend to be mad to earn brownie points with Serbians, but I’ve got enough of those and I can’t redeem them for anything besides Serbian Dinars which are totally useless over here in the States. Nope, sometimes you just have to make what seems like the right play and that’s what Barnes did.
He still totally robbed Bogdanovic of another signature career moment, though. I am outraged.
