Seth Curry is one of many, many names placed on the “vaguely disappointing” list for their performances so far this season. A full version of this list is not available at this time, however, Curry’s name is definitely on it. I just checked. Don’t worry about it.
He hasn’t been bad, at least as far as I can tell. He is still sometimes scoring points, just not as many points as he was in his last stint in Dallas or during last year’s stint with Portland. His three-point shooting, the whole reason he’s in the league in the first place, has regressed. 35 percent is fine, but you know what’s even more fine? 45 percent.
It’s early in the season, though we’re quickly entering into the months-long grind of the middle of the season, so there’s no real reason to be concerned. The Mavericks are doing just fine with him only providing 75 percent of the shooting they thought they were getting when they brought him back. And the winds of fortune can change direction in a hurry; they’ve blown Curry into a 19-point performance tonight, who knows to what exotic locales he’ll be whisked away too next?
