Devonte’ Graham is beasting at an incredible level right now. He is SO good, and every game too. Every single god-damn game he’s putting up these huge statlines. If you had told me he was going to be this good last year, I would’ve laughed right in your face. And if we weren’t talking face-to-face but instead corresponding through the internet, I would’ve responded with one of those crappy gifs of some celebrity laughing. Probably that one where the chick is drinking Sprite and sprays it everywhere because of the laughter.
Despite his insane production, he’s not getting a lot of hype right now. Part of that is that he’s playing in Charlotte, which is where hype (and hope) goes to die, and another part of it is that he’s playing for the Hornets, who are the least notable team in the league and have been for their entire existence.
Can we just ignore his entire rookie season, just say that it didn’t happen (it might as well not have happened considering his meager production), and that this can be his rookie season? Then the hype would be off the charts. WAY off the charts. He’s like Trae Young from last year but actually good. He’d be the best rookie in the class by a country mile, and I bet the networks would finagle things to get him in some nationally televised games.
Instead, the only people who get to see him in action are League Pass aficionados, actual Hornets fans (all five of them, OOOHHH DISSSSSSS), and people who watch highlight videos on YouTube. Which includes you, presumably, unless you literally don’t watch any of these videos and instead read the descriptions only. If that’s you, please stop. The highlights are the main point of this channel.
