The first thing I notice about Aaron Holiday is the incredible size of his headband. It looks like a skullcap in the thumbnail, which would probably be in transgression of one of the numerous and varied NBA regulations regarding headband width, size, and color, but it does eventually stop, thus forming a true band.
Normally headbands of the size that Holiday apparently prefers are reserved for older players who are totally balding but don’t want people to see how messed up their hairline is getting. LeBron James comes to mind. Maybe Holiday just really likes LeBron and is trying to emulate him? It must have worked, because he scored 23 points (and what number does LeBron wear, hmmmmm?), totally outplaying everyone else on the court (which is also something that LeBron does regularly).
Sidenote: while experimenting with headbands for the purposes of writing this description, I came up with the concept of a “Mobius headband” which is a Mobius strip made out of headband material. It’s not very comfortable, but it IS stylish. I’m totally wearing it next time I go to the gym.
Sidenote part two: you know how you can connect the edges of a headband and make a tube out of it? I did that with my Mobius headband and things got SERIOUSLY messed up. I get the feeling the universe wasn’t meant to handle the object I created, probably because I accidentally entered the fourth spatial dimension with it.
