RJ Barrett 27 Points Full Highlights (12/17/2019)

I would like to earnestly apologize for foolishly and presumptively rendering and uploading this video before the game was even over, figuring that RJ Barrett wouldn’t score any more points. Alas, he hit two free throws (that were ruined by excessive Vince Carter worship, but I digress) with 45 seconds left. The video showing him scoring 25 points was public for approximately 3 seconds before I noticed the mistake. If you saw it during that time, please, don’t judge me too harshly. God will be the judge of me, and honestly, I’m probably going to hell for this one.

I just wanted those extra views. That’s all I wanted. I didn’t want to mislead anybody. I’m so sorry.

Anyway, now that this video is uploaded with the correct amount of points, let’s get down to business (to defeat the Huns): the Knicks just totally whooped another NBA team! They’ve had a few wins recently, but they were very close calls. This one was just an absolute butt-kicking. The Hawks are so bad, man. Trae Young must be freaking out right now, he probably hasn’t lost as much in the rest of his life combined as he has in the NBA.

The Knicks are also so bad, man, but there are signs of life. They are winning a few games, losing some other games by not very much, and only getting blown out occasionally instead of all the time. I can’t say that their offense is more cohesive, but at least more shots are going in, and that’s basically the same thing.

The Knicks being so bad was really hurting Barrett. Rookies on good teams are already bad enough, and that’s with a real system and actual good players surrounding them. Rookies on bad teams? Unless they’re special talents, they really struggle without a gameplan or cohesiveness. When the Knicks are in their worst throes of suckitude, what’s Barrett supposed to do? Chuck closely-guarded threes because there’s no better option? Or drive into the paint hopelessly only to find himself surround by hostiles?

When things are working (or when the opposition doesn’t want to play any defense at all), like they were tonight, it just makes things so much easier for everybody. Case in point: Barrett had a career-high 27 points, and it didn’t seem like that many, because it was so effortless. Hardly a struggle at all, except when he was getting fouled and making the shot anyway.
