Seth Curry has hit the twenty point mark in three of his last four games after not reaching it even one time in any of the first 21 games of the season. He’s made 8, 9, and 11 shots in those games after having a season high of six made shots through those first 21 games. All indications are pointing to Curry and Carlisle finally having figured out Curry’s role in the offense. Now all he has to do is go out there and execute, which he has shown to have no problem doing as long as he has a well-defined role.
The timing of Curry’s resurrection couldn’t be better. With Luka Doncic out, there’s a big void in the box-score that other players need to step up and fill. Curry is doing his part by being the same kind of knock-down shooter that we saw last season in Portland. He’s never going to be a consistent 30 PPG per game scorer like Doncic was, but if he can even score, like, 15 PPG per game, you can get Jalen Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith to make up the difference. Unretire Dirk if you have to, but that’s looking more and more like it won’t be necessary. Which is good because he’s been eating ice cream for all of his meals and now weighs over 300 pounds.
