The opportunity for Wesley Matthews to get in a pair of REVENGE GAMES back to back was squandered when he was made inactive against the Knicks yesterday. His stint with the Knicks was short (two games) and rather pathetic (4-for-19 shooting), but it existed, and I’m sure he’s mad at them for waiving him so quickly after he got traded there. Nothing good happened for him in New York, but his only revenge against them is the fact that the Bucks won by 21 (which is practically a win for the Knicks, they should’ve lost by 50 probably) while he sat on the bench and cheered.
The revenge was much sweeter tonight. The Pacers had him for 23 games to end the regular season as well as the 4 playoff games they had before they got swept. They had him, knew how good he was, how much he helped them, and they still just let him go for nothing. They showed that they didn’t value his veteran savvy and smooth three-point shooting, and now they are paying the price. Because the Bucks just dominated them in the second half, with Matthews leading the way with a team-high 19 points.
Meanwhile, Justin “Wesley Matthews Replacement” Holiday scored 3 points on 1-for-5 shooting and looked really skinny while doing it.
