Terrence Ross 26 Points Full Highlights (12/23/2019)

The Magic are one of the worst offensive teams in the league. This despite their talent level, which is fairly high (they have three players who are “too good” for my channel, as well as Michael Carter-Williams, who is “too MCW” for my channel). There must be something wrong with the scheme they’re running or something, because a lot of people aren’t playing up to expectations. It’s a chronic issue in Orlando.

Being as I am a man who seeks to apportion blame whenever possible, I will state that the majority of the blame goes to Al-Farouq Aminu, who just really sucks on offense and his suckiness acts as a black hole, sucking the vitality out of everything around him.

Terrence Ross is one of those under-performers. It was probably optimistic to think that he would continue his stellar play from last season, where he scored 15 points per game solely on the back of TOUGH jumpers. A few dunks here and there, but mostly, contested jumpers coming off screens. Shooting a high percentage on those types of shots isn’t sustainable unless you’re TRULY an elite shooter, not just a guy who his only elite at the “taking” part of taking shots.

Of course, he’s laughing directly at my face right now, because he just put together a vintage Ross performance, scoring 26 while not having a clean look the whole game. Maybe on one or two of them he got a good look at the rim before shooting it.
