The dinner is finished, the relatives are gone, the presents are unwrapped, but Chris Boucher has one more gift for Boston fans on this wonderful Christmas Day: a big smelly dump right in their Christmas stocking. He just planted himself right on the mantle, aimed carefully, and put it straight in. That will be quite the surprise when they go to remove them to storage in a few days!
Sadly, the Raptors lost this game, bad, in front of all of America (who is laughing at the general ineptitude of Canada, by the way), but just because his team lost doesn’t mean that Boucher didn’t totally dominate the Celtics. Because he did it. It’s not his fault that players either showed up but sucked, or didn’t show up at all (Pascal Siakam is obviously angling for a trade after not even bothering to suit up for the biggest game of the year), or showed up but didn’t play enough minutes for it to matter.
I’m thinking about Stanley Johnson on that last one. I was just pondering how far off the rails his career has gone and he goes and scores 6 points in 4 minutes? Where was he while Patrick McCaw was being worse than useless the whole game? Nick Nurse, we (me and the entire country of Canada) demand answers!
