Hornets fans may hate (okay, that’s a strong word, you can replace that with “resent” if you want) Terry Rozier because of his chucky, tunnel-visioned style of play and because of the contract he was awarded in the offseason, but here’s the deal: he’s scoring at a totally acceptable rate and is far from the problem with Charlotte.
Of course, I say that as a person who doesn’t watch a whole ton of Hornets games (but I do watch some, which puts me in the top 1 percent of internet commentators), which means I don’t have to watch Rozier run around and take horrible threes like he’s some kind of star while not passing. I’m sure watching him on a game-to-game basis would cause my tune to change.
The thing with bad teams is that SOMEONE needs to run around and take those bad shots. However bad his shots may be, they have a better chance of going in than if someone like Cody Martin was suddenly tasked with creating offense for himself. The 17 points per game he’s scoring might be the least impactful 17 points in the history of the league, but unless your’re LeBron James, 17 points is 17 points.
