Kevin Huerter 26 Points/5 Assists Full Highlights (1/4/2020)

The Hawks won a game! Against a good team! All it took was Trae Young to do his usual Herculean things, and for Kevin Huerter to actually provide him with some help for once. The Hawks had had a lot of losses recently, and I felt like things were starting to become unraveled. Evidence of the unravelment: rumors that they are thinking of trading for Andre Drummond. Please Hawks, don’t do this. Think of the future. Anyway, hopefully this win and the win against the Magic a few days ago will steady the ship and they’ll turn back into a regular bad team instead of a bad team with horrible chemistry.

This is the Kevin Huerter I expected more of coming into the season. The aggressive kind, the kind who is willing to take any sort of jumper-type thing presented to him. He didn’t work on his shooting form for however many thousands of hours just to not shoot them in game, right? Right. I get that he’s coming back from injury, but he looks fine enough now, so he should be shooting all the jumpers that he can. His three attempts are fine, but I’m thinking more of the midrange stuff. The funky stuff. Trae Young has the ultimate green light, so I bet Lloyd Pierce would be willing to give one to Huerter as well. If he hasn’t already. You know what they say: two chuckers is better than one.

And then you add in his nascent playmaking ability and you have a really legitimate tall shooting guard on your hands. I am honestly seeing a white Khris Middleton right now. Are you seeing it? If not, imagine Khris Middleton in your mind. You know what he looks like, right? Yeah, so take Khris Middleton, make him white. Now look at a picture of Huerter. It should be the same image.
