If I was really serious about cutting my workload, I’d institute a new policy: if your team doesn’t win, you don’t get a video. Why should we be glorifying statistically impressive performances in losses? There’s only one stat that matters: the almighty W. Everything else can go back to the spreadsheet from whence it came.
Instead, I’ll have to cut my workload in a different way: by excluding Bam Adebayo from my channel. It will be as much of a boon to my productivity (which really should be devoted to actual role-players and not actually good players like Adebayo) as removing Nikola Jokic was. Adebayo has the same problems (which are literally only problems to me and not anyone else) as Jokic: too many assists, just too much STUFF in general. Every vid I make for him balloons out to massive proportions just because of all the stuff I have to show.
I could live with a performance like this if it was a triple-double, but it wasn’t. He was one assist and two rebounds short, not a big difference in terms of in-game impact, but a huge difference when it comes to people caring about what he did. He’s good, and he’s for sure going to be an All-Star this year, but he’s not good enough where people just automatically care about his performances. He has to MAKE them care, and that involves arbitrary statistical achievements like triple-doubles or 20-20 games.
