Two straight games of 5-for-9 from the field for Brad Wanamaker. The only reason this one had one more point than the last one is because he made all four of his free throws instead of missing one. I have been informed that he has the reputation of being the best free-throw shooter on the Celtics, and I can see why. 4-for-4 is straight up elite. Can’t do any better than that.
If you want my advice on how to view this video (and you definitely do, because I made it and thus know it better and more intimately than anyone else on the entire god-damn planet), here it is: stop watching after he makes his fourth bucket, at around 40 seconds in. After that point, there is one more layup (sorry, let me correct myself: LAMEup), some elite free-throw shooting, and what may be the worst collection of assists EVER.
I don’t think I’m exaggerating, the quality of Wanamaker’s assists in this game is really that bad. These weren’t even swing passes to open threes. These were “easily pass it to a guy standing still and watch that guy stand there for a bit longer before going into a move and scoring” assists. Just awful. All of them were like that. In Europe, none of those would’ve been assists. And he’s so used to how Europe is (given that he played there for a while) that he was probably really surprised when he checked out his stats after the game and saw that the scorekeepers gifted him 5 dimes.
Maybe I should’ve shown his 4 steals instead. Oh well. Maybe next time.
