I don’t know if this is sustainable, guys. Out of eight games that Zion Williamson has played in this season, I’ve made eight highlight videos, for an amazing 100% highlightage rate. Even the most highlight-prone role-players will stay at maybe a 40% or, rarely, 50% highlightage rate. You can see from those numbers that Zion doesn’t really belong on my channel, especially if he keeps up his impressive rate of bucket-getting.
For now, I’m pushing through. Rookies are always eligible for DownToBuck, and I would like to honor my self-imposed guidelines for my channel if at all possible. Then again, it’s becoming clear that Zion’s not a normal rookie. I count on rookies to have ups and downs; if Zion isn’t going to have any downs, or if his downs are considerably higher than most rookies’ downs, then the rules don’t necessarily have to apply to him. Exceptions could be made. Since it’s my channel, I can make as many exceptions as I want and nobody can stop me.
I’ve gotten plenty of mileage out of Zion already, milking him for view counts from the casual fans that I claim to despise, so if I let him go now, it will still have been worth my while as the mastermind behind the world’s most decorated scrub-themed highlights channel. However, as I said before, I’m going to keep Zion on my channel for now and continue trying to trick casuals into subscribing.
