This video is not for Kings fans. They can watch it, of course, I’m not going to deny them that right (like I deny Lakers fans the right to watch Moritz Wagner videos), but they likely already saw all the stuff that he did tonight. No, this video is for fans of other teams. The teams that will be looking to acquire Giles’ services when he becomes a free agent this offseason.
I don’t really blame the Kings for declining to pick up the final year on Giles’ rookie deal. I don’t get why you’d draft a raw prospect and then give up on developing him while he’s still cheap, but I’m not a GM. There are probably, like, concerns with the salary cap to think about or something. There could be a lot of reasons a horrible team wouldn’t want a young high-pedigree prospect.
So, fans of other teams, I hope you like what you see out of Giles. He’s going to be a great fit on whatever your team happens to be. He’s big. He can pass. Shooting? Why not? Who says he’s done developing? The Kings say that, but what do they know?
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a Bucks game that I’m trying to watch and this description is really getting in the way of that. Blame any typos/unfinished thoughts on the fact that my full attention is devoted to watching Giannis (possibly what Giles will look like in the future?????) dominate.
