Remember how there was that “Banana Boat” squad that everybody was secretly (and not-so-secretly) hoping would team up in real life to form a superteam? If my memory serves me correctly, the Banana Boat squad was LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony. They were photographed riding on a giant inflatable banana once, hence the name.
The Banana Boat squad has nothing to do with Dario Saric. I’m just using them as a springboard to launch my latest fun superteam idea: the “Croat Boat” squad.
Basically, this summer, all the Croat NBA players have to go sailing around the Adriatic Sea near the Croatian coastline. There are many picturesque islands and beaches in the area so it wouldn’t be unusual for professional basketball players to be in the area. However, they have to make sure that they are within view of paparazzi at all times so that the picture of four Croats in a boat can be widely circulated in the Croatian media, and then, the worldwide media. Here’s my ideal list of Croats to be found in this Croat Boat:
-Dario Saric
-Bojan Bogdanovic
-Dragan Bender
-Mario Hezonja
That’s not really a “superteam” and it doesn’t have a point guard, but I think it would be worth trying to get all those Croats on one team for at least one season to see if they have off-the-charts chemistry with each other. And the motivation for a team to agree to this will be the multiple hi-res photos of the four of them having fun on a boat. The Croat Boat. Which also has Croat chicks on it.
