Joe Harris Career High 30 Points/8 Threes Full Highlights (1/31/2021)

These are the kind of performances from Joe Harris that we’ll see less of now that James Harden is on the Nets, and that makes me upset. Harris is having a career year, not just from a raw PPG per game perspective, but from an efficiency perspective, and how does Nets management reward him? By trading for a guy who uses up hella possessions, possessions which were already being used up by the two other superstars on the team? Luckily, Harris’ contract is money in the bank for him, so he doesn’t have to worry about long-term financial stability, he only has to worry about somehow coexisting with a bunch of chuckers and maintaining his sanity while doing so.

I love forming conclusions based on single data points, and the single data point I’m looking at right now is this: James Harden was out with injured moobs (he spilled burning-hot nacho cheese on them), and Joe Harris put up a career high. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what’s going on here. I mean, I am a genius for sure, but I didn’t need to be to form these conclusions. And the conclusion is this: Harden is holding Harris down. When Harden is out of the picture, Harris is unleashed.

The other conclusion is that it’s easy to score points when you’re playing the ‘Zards. But we all knew that one already.

As I mentioned earlier, Harris has a lot of guaranteed money coming his way (that he should definitely not be spending on more awkward white guy tattoos), so it’s not like the addition of Harden is going to affect his ability to get hella paid in the near future. I just want assurances from all involved parties that Harris will receive at least twelve field goal attempts per game going forward, and if any divas get their feelings hurt by this, that’s not Harris’ problem.
