Reggie Bullock 21 Points/7 Threes Full Highlights (2/7/2021)

When I saw that Reggie Bullock attempted fourteen three-pointers in this game, my initial reaction was one of primal revulsion. Intuitively, Bullock does not seem like the guy who should be hoisting up that many threes. He’s an alright three-point shooter, but he hasn’t been a “good” one since his Pistons days, at leat in my mind.

After the initial jolt of shock wore off, and I centered my thoughts with one of my patented “Pop-Tart Sandwiches” (which is two of one flavor Pop-Tart sandwiching one of another flavor Pop-Tart), I realized that, out of everybody on the Knicks, Bullock is the one who should be most allowed to have a green light from the triplezone. This is the modern NBA, and the modern NBA forces every team to shoot threes even if they’re not good at it. Since the Knicks have few legitimate three-point threats besides Bullock, the task will necessarily fall mostly on his shoulders. Who else do you want shooting those threes? RJ Barrett? The offense needs to shoot some threes, and Bullock is there to shoot them. And tonight, he was there to make them, as well.

Performances like these are what will make it very easy for the Knicks to move Bullock for a second-round pick to some shooting-starved contender at the trade deadline. Maybe they can get the Lakers to fall for it a second time. One Kostas Antetokounmpo, please. Thank you.
