Take a close look, because this is what the Knicks could have looked like had Carmelo Anthony bolted to Chicago. That’s right: it looks like Kyle O’Quinn scoring 19 and Kristaps Porzingis scoring 22 while Jimmer Fredette claps enthusiastically after every made shot.
You can’t wholly remove Melo from tonight’s game; he did shoot it 20 frickin’ times, after all. But it is interesting to think about how the Knicks would be faring without their “superstar”. Interesting in the sense that you’d get to wonder about how many digits the total number of wins would be. I’m guessing 2, but only barely. Christaps Porzingchrist is really darn good, and he could drag a Melo-less team to a few wins, but after him, the Knicks’ roster starts looking really thin on game-changing talent.
