This is probably the longest run of solid play for Toney “Baloney” Douglas since his Knicks days when he was a rookie and nobody knew how bad he was. This guy has tricked a lot of fanbases into thinking he would be good, and I’m not doing those fanbases any favors by making all these Toney Douglas videos which purport to show him playing well and scoring a lot of points.
If you’re a person from the future whose team just acquired Toney Douglas in some way, I’ll give you some context for this video: it’s the end of the 2015-16 season. The Pelicans are injured as heck. Their whole starting lineup is out. Toney Douglas has to play big minutes because there is nobody else around who can play those minutes. They’re playing the Phoenix Suns, who are garbage. The Suns don’t play defense. Not in 2016. That’s why Toney Baloney scores as many points as he does. It’s not because he’s good. It’s because of a confluence of circumstances that allow him to LOOK good.
