After a slow (really slow [absolutely glacial {pretty much DOA}]) start to his rookie season, the highlights are now coming thick and fast for Jamal Murray. 18 points, then 24 points, now 23 points. That’s a three game stretch with three performances that none of this year’s other draftees can even begin to hope for.
Joel Embiid has probably already won ROY this year, unless he gets injured again. So why shouldn’t there be something like RWWADTYOTY? In case you can’t figure out that blatantly obvious acronym, it stands for “Rookie Who Was Actually Drafted This Year Of The Year”. It’s the perfect award for people who want to reward rookies who DIDN’T get a ton of pressure-free rehab time around an NBA team to start their careers. Murray is the cleared leader right now, followed by, uh, Pascal Siakam or something, damn, this class isn’t off to a great start is it?
