Wesley Matthews 21 Points/6 Threes Full Highlights (11/27/2016)

Wesley Matthews has rescued his three-point shooting from the pit it was in at the start of the year, and he is now shooting an entirely respectable 36%. However, he currently belongs to the “shoots better from outside than inside the arc” club, a club whose meetings you never, ever, ever want to be invited to. It’s a bad place to be. I’ve heard they take you to a dark room lit only with candles and initiate you with chants like “can’t finish layups” and “unreliable from midrange”. The rituals don’t stop there, but they’re not appropriate for typing in a YouTube description box, so you don’t get to know about them. Just know that they make my skin crawl, and I’ve seen a lot of rituals in my time.

Yes, as a thirty-year-old with a 34% mark from two-point range, Matthews could still be considered the worst contract on the Mavs and probably one of the worst in the league. That’s legitimately sad when you think about how important he was to those fun Blazers teams. Then again, everything about the Mavs these days is legitimately sad. Even when they beat the Pelicans by ten it’s more sad than anything. If I used emojis in my descriptions there would be some of the crying ones right here.
