Man, if these are the usual shots that Evan Turner takes, I can see why he is having a horrible year offensively. It makes for good highlights, I guess, all these contested midrange jumpers, but it doesn’t make for good percentages. Who does he think he is, DeMar DeRozan?
Turner’s poor play means his huge contract is one of the worst in the league. There are other candidates (dammit Miles we paid you how much to put up 0’s across the board?), but Turner’s might be the most damaging to his team. And here I was, thinking he’d turned the corner a little bit, maybe taken the first step to shedding the “bust” label attached to his forehead, after a successful year in Boston. A year where he positively contributed to a team and earned his minutes instead of receiving them based on his draft position.
The whole situation is just another reminder to never be optimistic about anything.
