Mike Conley is a supremely average player. In the NBA. Which means he’s one of the top point guards in the world. Kind of weird to think about it that way, but there it is.
That doesn’t mean that anyone really knows who he is. In a league full of flashy point guards that like to crossover and dunk and strut around, Conley just kind of blends in. Gets overshadowed by his teammates. Runs the team like how you’re supposed to. Passes the ball, scores when needed, picks up some steals. Why cross over when you can just blow right by? Because it’s not as swag.
And if one thing is true about Mike Conley, it’s that he is decidedly lacking in swag.
