What’s wrong with the Knicks?
That’s a stupid question. There is an obvious problem with the Knicks that was not present last year: JR Smith is playing like he’s a homeless man who just happened to wander in to Madison Square Garden. That and the fact that they aren’t hitting threes at the ridiculous rate they did last year means sad faces in New York City.
Tim Hardaway Jr. hasn’t been playing too badly in the stead of JR Smith, but he’s nothing more than a role player. Has he already hit his ceiling? I can’t see him getting a whole ton better. If the Knicks want to win a chip they better hope the losses keep piling up and they get Exum.
That probably won’t happen, though. Carmelo is good enough and the East is bad enough that a .500 record and a low playoff seed isn’t out of the question. And in the playoffs, anything can happen.
Oh wait, that’s football.
