One of the minor storylines earlier in the year was the redemption of Michael Beasley. You all know the deal with Beasley and his problems (drugs), so I’m not gonna rehash it for you. But Beasley was having a great start to the year while shooting great percentages.
But everyone knew that his hot start was unsustainable. So rather than let him cool off naturally, the Heat coaches decided to deep-freeze him on the bench and wait to see if they can reactivate him for the playoffs and occasional big games with some of his hot shooting still intact. A questionable strategy, but we’ll see if it pays off. He didn’t display any ill-effects during the test run against the Warriors, so I’m optimistic.
