Austin Rivers has shown decent improvement after his disastrous rookie campaign. This is good. It’s expected that a rookie will improve, but for someone who played as Rivers did last year it’s not a given.
He’s still not very good at all, and New Orleans picking him at 10 is still a glaring mistake. His inability to make free throws is a huge red flag concerning the integrity of his jumper. He can’t survive on crossovers for very long. There’s a chance that he becomes kind of like a worse Tyreke Evans if he improves his finishing skills dramatically. Aside from that, he’s gonna have to fix that jumper if he wants to make an impact.
But as I said he has improved, and there is hope in Pelicans fan’s hearts yet. Or maybe that’s just shrimp poboys. Oh damn. Consider this description over. If I don’t stop this is gonna turn into a multi-paragraph treatise on creole cuisine.
