It’s kind of cute how the Raptors’ commentators get when they’re losing. Always talking about how “you’ve got to move on to the next game” and “can’t worry aboot this one, this happens in the NBA” while hardly bothering to remark on the game still in progress. This sort of thing goes for a lot of commentating teams around the league, as well, but them being Canadian just makes it even more adorable.
James Johnson had one of the best games of his career, a splendid night ruined by the combined futility of his teammates and the listlessness of the commentary. Well, maybe not “ruined”. No one can ever take these 27 points away from him, and when he talks about it to his grandkids he won’t have to mention that his team got BTFO. To put it another way, does anyone remember if Wilt’s team won or lost when he dropped 100?
Didn’t think so.
