I have to thank the Memphis Grizzlies for crapping the bed so thoroughly that the Warriors were able to give Ian Clark an entire quarter of playing time. Without their cooperation and support, Clark might not have even seen the court in this game, much less scored in double digits. The Grizzlies have shown that they do truly place the success of a scrub-oriented highlight maker above their own team’s success, and for that I am very grateful.
I am a little reluctant to label this video as a “career-high”, however. Fifteen points is not a very high bar. I mean, it’s not very likely that Clark exceeds that total this year, but it’s certainly possible. If this performance was impressive enough that he starts to get occasional rotation minutes, and he shoots a bunch of threes like everybody else on his team, then fifteen points ceases to be some kind of magical impassible barrier.
The best part of this is now I get to cross this guy’s name of my list. Now I just have to find some way to get Jon Brockman to come back to the NBA.
