I’m beginning to think that Manu Ginobili won’t ever retire. That he has already decided to just keep playing and playing, demolishing every record from Kareem’s points to Moses’ offensive rebounds along the way, until he dies of natural causes at 92.
He’s looked a little slower this year, it must be admitted. Luckily for him and his goal of playing another 60 years, medical technology is advancing at roughly the same rate he is declining. Cancer will be a forgotten memory in 30 years. Joint issues? Robotics will render human meat-limbs irrelevant in 40. Heck, advanced ice-bag technology is here RIGHT NOW, and has probably already extended Ginobili’s career by 5 or so years. What a time to be alive.
