George Hill: is he an above average starting point guard? Does it even matter when you have Monta Ellis on your team? Given how top-to-bottom stacked the PG position is league-wide, it’s hard to make a case for Hill being a top ten PG. He might be top fifteen. But if he was not top fifteen, wouldn’t that make him below average even if he’s actually really good?
Another important question: what happened to Hill’s Jason Kidd bleached-hair look? It looked horrible to be sure, but his audacity in attempting a look so outrageous made his inclusion on my unreleased “point guards ranked by factors other than their basketball skill” power rankings a very easy decision. Maybe if he was still rocking that ugly ‘do, the Pacers would be more attractive to the casual fan, and there wouldn’t be so many Raptors fans packing the Pacers arena. Just a thought. Obviously Lavoy Allen by himself isn’t enough of a draw for the casual fan.
