Joe Johnson 29 Points Jazz Debut Full Highlights (10/25/2016)

Do you ever watch a highlight video but instead of getting hyped you just kind of sit there because you know you’re watching the regression of the NBA back into early-00s iso-ball? I sometimes do. It’s like “wow it’s so cool that this guy is getting buckets but damn, does he ever get set up by his teammates/set up his teammates?”.

Enter Joe Johnson. He scored 29 points in his first game repping the Jazz, on good percentages, while hogging the ball and taking a bunch of lame iso shots (admittedly, against smaller defenders). Remember that the Jazz are supposed to be one of those newfangled ball-movement teams. Also remember that Johnson isn’t getting paid a ridic amount anymore. You don’t have to force the action with him to make it seem like you’re getting your money’s worth.

The most perverse part about it? One of the Jazz commentators seemingly using “Iso Joe” as a term of endearment. Uh, no dude, that’s a derisive nickname. It’s not a good thing. Why would you think it’s a good thing?
