By the end of last season, the Suns commentators, especially Eddie Johnson, were starting to get a little loopy. That’s what losing does to people. When the on-court product started getting a little rough, they both had minor mental breakdowns that only manifested in occasionally incomprehensible commentary.
It looks like the effects haven’t warn off quite yet.
What in the holy hell is “Croatian ice cream”? Is it supposed to be really good? Is it different than normal ice cream? Is it just a joke playing on the fact that Croatia doesn’t have ice cream at all? In any case, why would you spend valuable minutes during the first telecast of the season discussing it? So many questions, so few answers.
Dragan Bender likes it, apparently, whatever “it” is. So that’s cool, but that’s the kind of tidbit that can be saved for later. Don’t bring it out in the first game of the season. Not while The Dragon is terrorizing the Kings with banked-in threes.
I’m sort of impressed with this debut. He didn’t look good at all during preseason, and I thought it would be a while before he’d really do anything in a real game. The banked-in three was cringy, but the other stuff he did, that is stuff you can build on.
