Why does this near 40-point performance by Devin Booker not feel as insane as it should? Under normal circumstances I would be rushing to my YouTube settings and changing my channel name to FunsInTheSuns. I would be smashing my vintage Bucks bobbleheads with a hammer while simultaneously going on Ebay and ordering as many Booker bobbleheads I could find. Instead, I remain a steadfast Bucks supporter, and regard this performance by the Booker Report with only mild interest.
Theory number one: he took a lot of shots (28) to get his points, which minimizes the impact of any high scoring game.
Theory number two: he kind of stat-padded there at the end, which is acceptable but feels sort of lame.
Theory number three (threeory): In the same way that an item priced $999.99 feels like only $900, 39 points only feels like 30. Or something. It’s psychology, people. Read a book for once.
Theory number four: he also had seven assists, which I had to debate really hard about showing or not showing. I don’t like it when players make me think that hard.
Bonus theory number five: I hate Brandon Knight so much.
Whatever the case, the fact remains that hype levels for Devin Booker will remain high after tonight’s game, but will not reach the MAXIMUM HYPE LEVELS that have currently been reached for T.J. Warren. God, now there’s a player I can get hyped for!
