Does Nemanja Bjelica ever look happy? Like, ever? You’d think that these career-high 24 points would be reason to at least smile even a little bit. But no. Just the same semi-sad but mostly blank expression. Maybe he heard the Minnesota commentators ragging on him for not being a very good power forward and got all mopey. That doesn’t explain every single other game he’s played where he hasn’t shown any emotion, but it does explain THIS game.
Speaking of which, why did Thibs decide to start him at small forward anyway? Zach LaVine was out for some reason, but my first thought wouldn’t be to insert Bjelica and then move him and Wiggins down a position. I’d be like “I bet John Lucas III can play shooting guard. He likes to shoot, and he’s a guard. Perfect!” and just put him in there.
I don’t see a reason why I’m not a head coach in the NBA right now.
