Here’s something to chew on: Gorgui Dieng made only 4 fewer buckets than Bradley Beal, but Beal was awarded 42 points for his efforts while Dieng only received 20. There is some serious injustice at play.
I mean, I just watched the two highlight videos of those two performances, and they seemed about the same to me. Like, if I had to assign point totals to them, I’d give Dieng’s like 30 and Beal’s maybe 31. So Beal’s was maybe a little better, because he made that technical free throw, otherwise it’s even. Nothing there to even suggest over twice the amount of points for Beal.
I don’t want to bring race into it, but Dieng is really, really black, while Beal is not white but also not as black. That’s just my first thought as to what’s happening, in the absence of any better explanations. I heard about this thing on the Internet called “SJW”, which stands for “social justice warrior”. Supposedly they’re really good at getting people to notice bad things that are happening in the world. Is there any way we could get some of those dudes/chicks to look into this?
