I have some very sad news from the “obscure as heck NBA stats” front: Brandon Bass is no longer the active leader in playoff free-throw percentage.
As of 2014, he was the leader in that category, but since then, he has been surpassed by two players; Dirk Nowitzki and teammate J.J. Redick. Steve Nash also eventually beat him out, but he doesn’t count anymore. It’s not even a matter of those dudes getting better; Bass simply got worse, and is now only shooting 89% from the charity stripe in postseason play. As it stands, he is barely, BARELY above Vince Boryla, by fractions of a percent.
I’m pretending that I know who Vince Boryla is, but I don’t. I don’t think anybody does.
