I feel like Aaron Gordon should be dunking the ball way more often than he is. He had 71 bigtime slammy-whams last year, slammy-whams which were chronicled in a dunkilation at the end of the season. That was a decent amount of jammage, but it was marginally disappointing considering the caliber of dunker that he is.
This year, he only has 29. Let that sink in. 29 dunks for the dunk contest winner last year, and the season is almost half over. DeAndre already has over 100. Gordon improved in many facets over the offseason, I understand that, but that doesn’t mean that dunking has to go by the wayside.
29 dunks is fewer dunks than Dwight Powell has. Bam. This is not okay. Maybe it seemed okay in the first two paragraphs, but after this startling comparison to a scrub on one of the worst teams in the league, you cannot deny that Gordon needs to man up and slam up.
