Serge “Ibaka Gaijin” Ibaka pretty much beasted his way through the entire month of December and it looks like he’s going to do the same thing in January. He might even keep it up for the whole season. Given the Magic’s recent good play, it’s not even out of the question that the Serge Protector would be able to flex his muscles in the playoffs when the Magic accidentally acquire the eighth seed instead of tanking.
It’s a contract year for Serge. He stands to get paid huge amounts of money in the offseason. Like max money or close to it for maximum years or close to it. Enough money to never have to eat Hot Pockets again, that’s for sure. I’m not going to sit here on my high horse and insinuate that the Ibaka Gaijin is playing extra hard right now to ensure that his future checks are large enough for him, but that’s pretty much what I’m insinuating. My high horse is really high up and when I’m up here I can’t hear the complaints from the people who think that NBA players try hard all the time. You’ll have to speak louder! I can’t hear you!
