D.J. Augustin 19 Points Full Highlights (1/6/2017)

It’s sort of sad that the Orlando Magic broadcast encourages fans to vote to see their favorite Magic player in the All-Star game. The Magic are one of the few franchises that legitimately don’t have anybody who deserves to be an All-Star (the Lakers and Mavs are others, and maybe the Pistons, but that might be it). Who would the fans even vote for?

Evan Fournier? He’s the only one who would even have an outside shot, but nope. Average five more points per game and then we’re talking.

Nikola Vucevic? Nope. This isn’t two years ago. This is 2017. I have a time machine but you’re not allowed to borrow it for such trivial matters as getting a Magic player into the All-Star game.

D.J. Augustin? If he could score 16 in every quarter, then yeah, sure. But scoring sixteen in one quarter and then three in the rest of the game? What All-Star does that?

Serge Ibaka? If he could get his home country to vote for him, it could be like another Zaza Pachulia situation. The Congo has way more people than Georgia does, but way less internet.

Mario Hezonja? Maybe he could be used as a prop in the dunk contest.

Case closed: there are no realistic All-Star candidates on the Magic. Despite the pleas of the Magic telecast, Magic fans should direct their votes towards other teams, or just not vote at all.
