D’Angelo Russell 22 Points/10 Assists Full Highlights (1/31/2017)

This is a milestone for D’Angelo Russell: his first game with double-digit assists. If humans evolved to have four fingers on each hand instead of five, or counted the spaces between their five fingers instead of the fingers themselves, he’d have gotten double-digit assists a couple times by now. But that’s neither here nor there.

Before Lakers fans come to the defense of D’Angelo’s less-than-gaudy assist totals by claiming that his teammates can’t finish his setups, remember that the same thing was said by Bucks fans about Brandon Jennings. So you might want to reconsider your argument.

You can thank Nick Young for these dimes. Seven of them, in fact. This video is only a few buckets short of “Nick Young 23 Points Full Highlights”. His swaggy shooting as soon as he touches the ball is great for any player searching for assists. Lou Williams accounted for two more, and Luol Deng for one. An ideal assist-heavy vid would contain setup after setup of Timofey Mozgov and Tarik Black, but that’s a tall order for any PG, much less a second-year PG. Maybe Chris Paul could do it, but also probably not. I’m gonna sound like a hypocrite, but they simply can’t finish Russell’s setups.
